Welding Management According to IIW MCS ISO 3834
Competitive advantage for Companies
March 2014Competitive Companies around Australia and the world are now adopting the International Institute of Welding (IIW) Manufacturer Certification Scheme (MCS) for the Management of Quality in Welded Fabrication, in order to become more competitive with welded products in the global market place.
The MCS calls upon ISO 3834 Parts 1-5 Quality requirements for welding - Fusion welding of metallic materials which enables companies to implement a welding quality management system in conjunction with ISO 14731 Welding coordination - Tasks and responsibilities to achieve world’s best practice.
Careers for Individuals
In complying with the MCS, companies must nominate and empower a person to become the Responsible Welding Co-ordinator, leading the Welding Coordination Team comprising all those involved in creating the welded product. As a team these people are responsible for not only welding quality and management but also productivity, occupational health, safety and rehabilitation (OHS&R) and management of environmental issues. This generates career structures for individuals suitably qualified and certified to international standards.
